Why This Piece
Two girls in the middle of a hand-clapping game, when the rhythm is working and everybody knows it. It's the good kind of evening playtime, the kind nobody wants to end. Friendship, shown plainly: two kids fully present with each other.
Dana Todd Pope's Clap Pat art, made to hang on the tree and come out again every year. A gift that keeps the story going.
